Calling the Dana Point area home for a while, his family settled in the beautiful city of, San Juan Capistrano. In September 2021 Evan moved to Concord, North Carolina. “I want to be closer to the industry, it’s been so much easier networking since the move. It’s been a real change in atmosphere, and so far I am loving it.”
Evan has been an avid fisherman, even since childhood. He stared fishing when he was 4 years old. When he was 16, he was employed to work on a Sports Fishing Boat out of, Dana Point. As a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, Evan became an instructor of the craft. He taught martial arts from 2017 until March 2021. But he always had time for his other found passion, Golf. From age Twelve until he was 19, he played golf competitively winning many tournaments and reaching a +1 handicap!
Keeping his Parents active in his life, he found the fast pace sports to his liking as well. He started in quarter midgets at age 7, and after a year of the TQ’s he moved on the higher horsepower machines known as the INEX Bandoleros. He ran the INEX series for 3 seasons with some success. With local tracks closing, the Garvy family made a choice to hang up the Helmet for short time, and then COVID hit. The struggle to get Evan back on track was not of their doings, but they remained focused and Vision Driven.
In 2021 the decision was made to get his racing career on track and found it best to run the US Legend Car Series. Finding a driving coach and team to work with, Evan quickly started winning races. Working with Ricky Schlick Racing, Evan won the 2021 Havasu 95 Speedway Legend Series Championship. Through Ricky, Evan met up with one of the short tracks most successful teams, Joe Ryan Racecars. He raced the summer shootout with the new team, taking home 8th in points for that series. They hit the Dirt Surface and Evan placed 3rd in US Legend/INEX Dirt Nationals. He was crowned the California Semi-Pro State Champion. That ranked him 10th in the nation.
Moving into some bigger machines, Evan won his debut in the South West tour Truck Series at Havasu 95 Speedway. He also made his Pro Late Model debut at Medera Speedway. Starting out his 2022 Racing Season in style, Evan raced in the 2022 Chili bowl with, Cory Kruesman.
2024 is set to be a jammed packed season of racing for the 23 year old California Native. Stay tuned and be sure to follow him on all of the Social Channels.
